In the summer of 2007 I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Whitney and Jamie Merritt. Several of their photos shot in the "field of weeds" are not only some of my all time favorites they have been some of the most commented on wedding portraits in my portfolio. Included in their wedding album were several ring shots. But something tells me the ring shots I took for them today will be more memorable and even more cherished.
Today it was also my pleasure to capture the first professional portraits of their 4 week old daughter Morgan! Curious, bright, alert, and curious are just a few words describing this little cutie. Congratulations Jamie and Whitney. I hope you enjoy these photos and the others posted on my facebook page.

Pretty in Pink
As an active member of flickr.com (an online community for photographers) I often search out new ideas for upcoming photo sessions. It was very exciting to find directions to make these wonderful flower hats and even more so to have a booking for a 3 week old baby girl all in the same week! It was hard to control myself until Saturday morning arrived. And when she finally came out of her wrappings in the studio, I couldn't get over how truly beautiful she was with blue eyes, curls, and pouty lips. She would indeed do my flower creation justice!!
PROBLEM: She didn't like the hat. Not a bit. Not even just a little bit. This perfectly calm, well behaved angel began to cry everytime I put it on her head. Go figure! The next 15 minutes were spent sticking a soother in her mouth to keep her calm and trying to capture an Anne Geddes worthy portrait in the 2 seconds of no tears immediately after pulling it out. She didn't seem to mind the I Love My Grandpa bib :o)
